Year 3 Term 3

Our Learning this Term

The current topic web for this term can be found below.

It provides information about the topics children will cover in each subject area.
DT - Roman Bread

The children designed and made their own bread roll. At the start of the week they tasted various types of bread, commenting on the taste, texture and price. They then planned their own design thinking about whether they wanted a sweet or savoury product. Today they made their own bread mixture, kneading the dough to activate the yeast and finally shaping into their design. They evaluated their final product thinking about the overall appearance, and again taste and texture.

Wroxeter Roman City Visit

On Wednesday 10th April, we visited Wroxeter Roman City. We spent the day exploring Viriconium (Wroxeter) - once the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. We explored the remains of the bathhouse and a reconstructed town house from a city which was almost as large as Pompeii. We made our own replica Roman coins and were able to handle many Roman artefacts.
