Welcome to Reception
Key people; Mrs Hall class teacher and our classroom assistant is  Miss Jacks.
Reception Baseline
As the children settle in we complete the reception baseline assessment where we get to know each child so that we are able to plan to meet their individual needs. For more information on this please click here.

Things to remember
Please bring a water bottle and your book bag to school everyday.
Children will be outdoors in all weather so please ensure your child has the appropriate clothing in school each day eg; sunhat, rain coat etc
A healthy snack can be brought into school for morning snack but fresh fruit is available everyday.
P.E day is a Tuesday please ensure that children have a P.E kit on their peg. These will be sent home each half term.

Homework will be allocated later in the term.

Your child will bring home a reading book and phonic flash cards.  Please practice the flash cards and read this book with your child encouraging them to use the pictures to tell the story, spot sounds that they recognise begin to blend words such as ‘b-u-g’. Please write in your child’s reading record book when you have read at home. We will change these books once a week. It is the expectation that all pupils will read their book four to five times a week at home to develop fluency and understanding.
They also have access to BugClub our online ebooks. Each child will be given a login to access this where they have access to additional books to read and complete quizzes.
Every child has access to our letter formation provision where they can practise the formation of each letter in a fun way. They will have a login to access home activities. Click here to find the link to letterjoin

Our P.E day is Tuesday. Children will need a school P.E kits to be kept on their peg. This consists of a white t-shirt, black shorts, black tracksuit and pumps.

We use an electronic learning profile to gather evidence and share in children's achievements . Parents will have a login where they are able to view and add to their child’s profile. We encourage you to share with us their achievements at home for example swimming/football/riding their bike etc.
