Our Topic Learning this Term

Science Week 2021

To celebrate Science Week, our school took part in the National Farmers' Union's 'Farming STEMterprise'. In Year 3, we created our own farm shop business and designed a new lunchtime food product. We discussed where our food comes from and revised our Plants learning from Year 2. Our favourite part of the week was dissecting different types of flowers and exploring them more closely using magnifying glasses. We had great discussions about the key functions of each part of the flowers and created freeze frames to represent the pollination and fertilisation process. We also really enjoyed investigating how water is transported through water using white carnations and celery!
Virtual History Day

On Tuesday 12th January 2021, we had a Virtual History Day where we were able to wear clothes at home and in school from the Romans period in history!
Even though we couldn't complete all of the activities planned, we still had lots of fun learning about the Romans and developing our history knowledge further.
Home Learning the Term

For this term's home learning, please continue to practise Years 3/4 common exception words and accessing online resources such as Education City, Bug Club and TT Rockstars. Additional spellings may be sent home with your child based on the assessments we complete in school.
The reading challenge has also recommenced in class where children can move along our reading race track if they read a whole book within 1 week.
Safer Internet Day 2021

This year's theme is  ‘An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world’.

On Tuesday 9th February 2021, BBC delivered a Safer Internet Day live lesson that can still be accessed using the following link:
